Our Approach

Our philosophy is simple: our bodies have tremendous healing abilities if given what they need, and if all the obstacles to healing are being removed. Therefore, we follow the three basic naturopathic principles:

  • Give the body what it needs

  • Take out the trash

  • Stimulate the Vital Force

Giving the body what it needs includes proper nutrition, adequate nutritional supplements, clean water and air, as well as a healthy emotional structure and supportive thoughts. A truly holistic approach. Leave out just one of those elements, and chances are you will fail. It's like leaving out a component of the engine, like the cylinder maybe, and wondering why the engine doesn't run. Unless you have all the pieces working perfectly together, your car won't run. - Same here with your body: if any piece is missing, like for example anti-oxidants, the body will break down eventually.

As far as "trash" is concerned, we all accumulate toxins, either through the natural metabolism of food, and especially from all the toxins we are exposed to every day: food additives, trans fats, food colorings, preservatives, pesticides, food irradiation, plastics, air pollution, heavy metals from "silver" fillings or even tap water, the list goes on. It is simply impossible to avoid all toxins, but it is smart to minimize this exposure. Because as toxins build up, when they reach a certain threshold, disease manifests. So, the more you can avoid toxins, and the more you get rid of them, the better off you are. And for those toxins that you can't totally avoid, if you give your body what it needs to protect itself - mainly anti-oxidants - chances are you'll be healthier than all your neighbors!

The final point, stimulating the "Vital Force", or "qi", as it is often called in Oriental Medicine, can be done in a variety of ways, including acupuncture, homeopathy, and even hydrotherapy. Some people can better visualize this as a strengthening of the immune system.

Taken together, these three principles never fail. Ever! Even advanced stages of most diseases respond to these principles, and "incurable" diseases "magically" disappear. As far as I am concerned, there are no incurable diseases, only medical incompetence. Now, that's a strong statement, but I have yet to find someone to make me change my mind.

Giving the body, mind, and spirit what it needs

Food

For many people, food is a very emotional subject, touching us deep down in our core, and also one of the utmost importance - indeed, we are what we eat. Having said that, food is not about deprivation and lack of enjoyment. We don't believe in suffering to get well. Keep in mind here that it is more important to add in the "good stuff" than to completely eliminate the "bad". The body can deal fairly easily with the "bad" stuff, if given enough of the "good" stuff. So, here is some of the "good stuff" the body needs:

  • Live, whole foods
  • Organic
  • Locally-grown
  • Raw
  • Full of live enzymes
  • Non-GMO
  • Non-irradiated
  • Non-pasteurized

Nutritional Supplements

  • Absorbable
  • Quality
  • Pure, free of toxins
  • In sufficient quantity
  • Synergistic

Emotional Healing

  • Release past painful experiences
  • Allow yourself to live in the present moment
  • Live in joy and trust
  • Happiness

Supportive Thoughts

  • Use the placebo effect for you, not against you
  • Create healing affirmations
  • Eliminate subconscious thoughts that may sabotage your health

Taking out the trash...

Prevention comes first

Much easier than trying to clean out all the toxins from the body is to limit their exposure in the first place. Here, it is important to have:

  • Clean air
  • Clean water
  • Safe cleaning supplies
  • Safe cosmetics
  • Safe personal care products

And for those unavoidable toxins, regular cleansing can help prevent them from accumulating to dangerously high levels, which would make you more prone to disease and suffering. Here, things like far-infrared saunas, liver cleansing, as well as gut cleansing, are effective ways of improving your health and well-being.

Stimulating the "Vital Force"

Besides giving the body all it needs, there are additional ways to stimulate healing and well-being, through what is called the "Vital Force", or "Vix Medicatrix Naturae", as it is called in Latin. Therapies like

  • Acupuncture
  • Homeopathy
  • Energy medicine

work on this more energetic level. But even therapies like hydrotherapy can help boost the Vital Force, as well as the immune system.

When combining all of these modalities, vibrant health is simply unavoidable. The body is meant to be healthy, all the time. It is only if we neglect to take proper care of it, that disease can  get the upper hand. Even for infectious diseases, there are two factors: how virulent the pathogen is, and the susceptibility of the host. When the host has little or no susceptibility because of a strong immune system, even infectious disease has little chance to create any harm. That's why not everybody gets sick when the flu comes around.

We look forward to helping you improve your health and well-being, for a long, happy and abundant life!
